Chapla, Hawthorne and Worsdale Selected for All-Conference and All-State Honors

May 16, 2009 Rachel Chapla, Meghan Hawthorne and Katie Worsdale were all selected to the NCHSWLA East Conference All-Conference team. At the NCHSWLA Awards Ceremony, Katie Worsdale was also named to the first string All-State team. Congratulations to all! Katie Worsdale Featured on Cover of VYPE Magazine

Goalie Katie Worsdale was featured on the cover of the May 2009 issue of VYPE Magazine. The cover story was about the sanctioning of lacrosse as an official NCHSAA sport, starting in the 2009-2010 school year. Worsdale was featured along with lacrosse players from different area schools. In January, VYPE also featured goalie Cheryl Schlitter as Academic Athlete of the Month:

May 9, 2009 Star News: "Hoggard girls perfect lacrosse season comes to an end"
The Lady Falcons were praised in a Star News article, which is a Wilmington area news publication. The article describes the match-up against the Lady Falcons on Saturday, May 9.

May 9, 2009 For the sixth straight year, the Lady Falcons have advanced to the Final Four. This year has been an especially amazing run. The Lady Falcons graduated 12 players last year and lost another two veterans. Only 12 of the 26 team members are returnees from last year, and only four of them were starters. Green Hope does not have a JV team to feed the Varsity team. And yet, Coach Sibley insisted on a tough schedule, one that included all of last year's top teams. Then two scoring starters were sidelined early in the season due to injuries. Despite the odds, the Falcons upset two higher seeded teams in decisive victories to advance to the Final Four. And Coach Sibley did all this as a full-time college student! Coach Sibley, we are proud of you!

April 30, 2009 State Tournament seeding was announced today, and Green Hope enters the play-offs ranked #12. The Lady Falcons ended their 2009 regular season with an overall record of 8 wins and 8 losses. Their season end showing in the East Conference is 7 wins and 3 losses.

April 27, 2009 The Lady Falcons honored their three seniors, all of whom are four year veterans of the team. Team Manager Kelsey Noonan and goalies Cheryl Schlitter and Katie Worsdale were escorted by their parents and introduced to the audience.

March 28, 2009 The thunderstorms had passed, but the field was still too wet to hold the annual Black/White Scrimmage game. Nevertheless, the show must go on, especially when food is involved! So under cloudy skies, the Nisbets graciously opened their home for the annual pot luck brunch and talent show. Full story & Photos
