ECHHS Wildcats Overpowers Lady Falcons, 5-13
The East Chapel Hill Wildcats team proved too much for the young Lady Falcons team. The Falcons played with great team work, but it wasn't enough to keep up with the Wildcats.
The beginning of the game had to be disappointing to the Lady Falcons. Five straight Wildcats point did not bode well for the team. Colleen Brophy proved to be the exception, coming out of nowhere to force turnovers, intercept passes, and break away with the ball. Then Campbell Stanley stirred things up when she drew a foul and stuffed one in on penalty. After several exciting saves by goalie Katie Worsdale, a bounce shot from a Wildcat proved too difficult to stop. Taylor Morrison connected to Deirdre O'Connor at the crease for the next point, which was answered by the Wildcats.
When the second half started, Stanley once again scored the first point of the half on a fast breakaway. The Wildcats answered back with another 5-point scoring streak. Rachel Chapla scored next when she took her own rebound off of the goalie. After the next Wildcat point, Chapla followed up by stuffing a shot into the Wildcat den for the final point, 5-13.
