March 28
Lady Falcons Have Off-Field Talent!

The thunderstorms had passed, but the field was still too wet to hold the annual Black/White Scrimmage game. Nevertheless, the show must go on, especially when food is involved! So under cloudy skies, the Nisbets graciously opened their home for the annual pot luck brunch and talent show.

The freshmen class opened up the show with a rap called "The Freshmen of Bel-Air" (with apologies to Will Smith). Erin Noonan, Sarah Hawthorne, Dani Klavik, Kendall Hidalgo, Briana Lowell and Campbell Stanley got down with their original rap dedicated to the seniors on the team. In fancy formals, Nicole "Tough Dude" Nisbet, Priscilla "Party Girl" Lin, Kelly "I'm a Material Girl" Bristow, Hagen "Leave me Alone - I'm Emo" Donahue and Katie "My Ideal Date is March 17" McCabe put on a mock beauty pageant in which the tiara went to (drum roll, please...) Coach Sibley!

Casey Reiser and Alicia Smith stumbled their way through magic tricks. Casey read off step-by-step instructions while Alicia tried to understand and do the steps. Taylor Morrison (singing), Claire Kilmer (on guitar) and Rachel Chapla (playing some mean bongos!) gave us a soulful rendition of Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours." Colleen Brophy belted out a couple of pieces on her euphonium. Jennifer Perry gave us a solo version of "Evolution of Dance", right before Deirdre O'Connor imitated a Chia Head (by brushing out her voluminous fluffy hair).

Cheryl Schlitter performed part of the 1st movement of the Elgar Cello Concerto (featured in the movie "August Rush"). Katie Worsdale followed up with a few seconds of juggling. But her true talent appeared to be storytelling, as she recounted her fear of talent shows based on a childhood event that involved prancing around in a butterfly costume. Emily Ross, Meghan Hawthorne and Linelle Gorman entered stage left as the 3-humped camel and hip-hopped their way through Black Eyed Pea's "My Humps." Allie Klavik and Dana Josephson doubled the fun with a remixed duo version of "Evolution of Dance."

For the finale (and due to popular demand), Coach Sibley, still in tiara, performed some Globetrotter-like tricks with a basketball.

And the winners, please....

  • 3rd Place: Tie: Taylor Morrison Band and Beauty Pageant
  • 2nd Place: 3-Humped Camel
  • 1st Place: Freshmen of Bel-Air
