Head Coach Ashley Ruppert
Ashley Ruppert attended Green Hope High School from 2001 to 2005. Ashley was a part of Green Hope’s first club lacrosse team in 2003. In 2004 and 2005, Ashley served as co-captain of the Green Hope High School Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team. As a junior, she also played for the Carolina Fever and Lower-Atlantic National Tournament Team.
In her two years of playing at the Varsity level, Ashley finished her high school lacrosse career with 102 goals and 31 assists for a total of 133 points. She was also a member of the North Carolina State Championship team, was selected as an Honorable Mention All-American, and an Academic All American in 2005.
After graduating from Green Hope, Ashley attended school at the University of Georgia. In 2007, Ashley returned to Raleigh to finish school at North Carolina State University and coach at Middle Creek High School. In 2010, she graduated with a degree in Economics and returned home to coach at Green Hope High School in 2011.
Currently, Ashley works for the Wake County Guardian ad Litem Program and coaches the Lady Falcons. Like the former coaches, Ashley reports that between her two jobs she has no free time.Asst. Coach Abby Mead
A 2006 graduate of Davidson College in
Davidson, N.C., Abby has returned to North Carolina to attend
the graduate business school at UNC where she is working towards
her MBA. Prior to returning to the state, Abby was an assistant
collegiate coach, most recently with College of the Holy Cross
in Worcester, MA from 2007 to 2010, and prior to that, Kenyon
College in Gambier, Ohio, where she served as an assistant coach
for the 2007 season. She also gained coaching experience as a
coach for the Capital Lacrosse in Washington, D.C. as well as
working numerous camps including Triple Treat, University of
Virginia, Brown, Yale, Top of the Class and as the Co-Director
of the Holy Cross Lacrosse Camp.
At Davidson she was a Major General Thomas Corbin Scholar which
is awarded for leadership and athletics. She also received the
2006 Wildcat Award for hard work, dedication and loyalty to the
team. As a junior and senior, Mead earned Southern Conference
Academic Honors, while she was also a member of the 2006 NCAA
lacrosse honor squad. She was a consistent three-year starter as
she played attack, midfield and defense, finishing second on her
team in total ground balls as a senior leader on defense.
A native of Washington, D.C., Mead was a two-time High School
All-American at the National Cathedral School. She served as a
team captain for her lacrosse, tennis and basketball teams,
while she was the High Point Athletic Winner in 2002.
