PLAYERS
I pledge to ALWAYS...
- Respect and encourage my teammates and our opponents
- Play hard and do my best - but always within the rules
- Honor the coaching staff, managers and all game officials
I pledge to NEVER...
- Taunt, tease, cut down or denigrate another player, whether on my own team or an opposing team
- Intentionally try to cause physical injury to another player
- Be disrespectful toward my coach(es), game officials, managers and other players
Whether I win or lose a game, I will have succeeded if I have given my best effort.
PARENTS
I/we pledge to ALWAYS...
- Support the team through word and deed
- Support and encourage my daughter(s)
- Speak respectfully about the Green Hope High School administration, coaching staff and managers
- Temper my expectations
I/we pledge to NEVER...
- Make disparaging comments from the sidelines - whether directed at the officials, the other team, our team, our coach(es) or my own daughter
- Equate success with athletic performance
COACHES
I/we pledge to ALWAYS...
- Treat each student-athlete with respect, fairness and unconditional support
- Encourage each player at all times
- Remember that I/we are supposed to be role models - and comport ourselves accordingly
I/we pledge to NEVER...
- Intentionally tear down, belittle, denigrate or embarrass any player
- Forget that this is a game and is supposed to be FUN

Team Policies And Expectations

You are responsible for acting in accordance with all team policies. You are a representative of Green Hope High School and as a varsity student-athlete, your actions directly reflect on the image of your school. Do not act in a way that is embarrassing to Green Hope High School, the North Carolina High School Women's Lacrosse Association, your family or yourself.
Uphold the highest standards of SPORTSMANSHIP: All Green Hope Women's Lacrosse players are ambassadors for our school, our team, and the great sport of women's lacrosse. Always demonstrate a positive attitude, be kindhearted, responsible, and most of all be courteous to those around you. This includes your family, teachers, school administrators, teammates, coaches, managers, opponents, officials and athletic training staff. Any conduct that is exhibited in a spirit that is less than the aforementioned criteria will be addressed and dealt with immediately by the head coach.

Code of Sportsmanship: It is recognized that public school interscholastic athletic events should be conducted in such a manner that good sportsmanship prevails at all times. Every effort should be made to promote a climate of wholesome competition. Unsportsmanlike acts will not be tolerated. A player is under the coach's control from the time he/she arrives at the athletic field until he/she leaves the field. The penalties listed in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Handbook will be adhered to for any athlete ejected from an athletic contest.
NCHSAA Regulations Student Athlete Pledge: As a student athlete, I am a role model. I understand the spirit of fair play while playing hard. I will refrain from engaging in all types of disrespectful behavior, including inappropriate language, taunting, trash talking, and unnecessary physical contact. I know the behavior expectations of my school, my conference, and the NCHSAA and hereby accept the responsibility and privilege of representing this school and community as a student athlete.
Parent Pledge: As a parent, I acknowledge that I am a role model. I will remember that school athletics is an extension of the classroom, offering learning experiences for the students. I must show respect for all players, coaches, spectators, and support groups. I will participate in cheers that support, encourage, and uplift the teams involved. I understand the spirit of fair play and the good sportsmanship expected by our school, our conference and the NCHSAA. I hereby accept my responsibility to be a model of good sportsmanship that comes with being the parent of a student athlete.
