Lady Falcons Have Talent!
The "talent" show started off with what the girls seem to do best... EAT! In a pie-eating contest, Casey Reiser showed very clearly that she could out-eat Dana Josephson and Allie Klavik (and probably every else on the team) with no hands. Lauren Cosentino, Elba Olivero, Kelsey Collins, and Logan Kaznowski, all in pink, hip-hopped their way through "Soulja Boy". Taylor George and Kelly Reiser, on guitars and with a little bit of "doo-doo-di-doo", sang "Anyone Else But You" from the movie Juno. Back by popular demand, Cheryl Schlitter and Jenna Lang, this time joined by Christina Demetros and Ali Brown, donned bright grass skirts and shook their booties to techno-Tahitian music. Newcomers Hagen Donahue, Kelly Bristow, Shannon Leonard, Rachel Chapla, Priscilla Lin and Nicole Nisbet showed that they can kick up their heels in a Riverdance number. (With their neon outfits, they probably would have glowed in the dark.)
Reigning champions Alannah Garcia and Dani Johnson extolled the virtues of the Lady Falcons to the tune(?) of "This is Why I'm Hot". The newcomers, including Klavik this time, showcased members of the team in a reprise of "Mambo Number 5", which prompted Coach Sibley to declare that a new version of Mambo Number 5 will be part of every Talent Show from now on. Schlitter, in yet another outfit, offered up a Bach Courante on her cello.
And the winners are, as chosen by Halle Piper... (drum roll please...)
- 1st place: Cheryl Schlitter on cello
- 2nd place: Newcomers Hagen Donahue, Kelly Bristow, Shannon Leonard, Rachel Chapla, Priscilla Lin, Nicole Nisbet and Allie Klavik on Riverdance and Mambo Number 5
- 3rd place: Kelly Reiser and Taylor George on guitar
- 4th place: Alannah Garcia and Dani Johnson with "This is Why We're Hot"
After the talent portion of the day, Coach Heather Piper and husband Jeff were showered with gifts from the team, while Baby Halle snuggled up contently in Coach Sibley's lap.
