April 10
Lady Falcons Lose To East Chapel Hill Wildcats Again, 4-10

The Lady Falcons brought their game, but the East Chapel Hill Wildcats brought fans with cowbells. At the end of the fierce struggle, the score was 4-10. The cowbells won out in the end.

The first half of the game saw an evenly matched effort as both the Falcons and the Wildcats stepped up their defense and denied their opponent's scoring machines from doing what they do best. Time and time again, Casey Reiser, Ali Brown, Jenna Lang, Mandy Blackburn and Christina Demetros formed an impenetrable wall and kept the Wildcats from even attempting a shot. Nine minutes into the game, the Wildcats finally broke through the Falcon barrier and scored first. But the Falcons got even 30 seconds later when Logan Kaznowski's rebound off the goalie was flicked in on a quick-stick by Kelly Reiser. Ten minutes later, the Falcons pulled ahead -- the Wildcat goalie was drawn out of the cage on an interception attempt, which allowed Brittany Ruppert to flip in a ground ball behind the goalie. With less than 2 minutes left in the half, the Wildcats tied up the score 2-2.

The Wildcats stepped up their game in the second half, scoring three points in quick succession. Lauren "Coz" Cosentino then put one in on a beautiful crease roll. The Wildcats put another 3 points on the board before Brittany Ruppert found her way to the net for the final Falcon point. Before the evening was over, the Wildcats lit up the board 2 more times to end the game 4-10.

Rachel Chapla, Ruppert, Casey Reiser and Deirdre O'Connor attacked the net aggressively with several shot attempts. Lang, Demetros and Brown drew charges, and Katie Worsdale warded off 15 attacks on goal, nearly knocking one out of the field.
