Green Hope Falcons Lose to Apex Cougars, But It Felt Like a Win, 11-17

NCHSWLA officials extraordinaire Kelly Lemley and Michelle Hood gathered the opposing team captains at the center of Apex High School stadium field. Green Hope won the coin toss and elected to take the Western goal, with the setting sun to their goalie's back. Even with field position seemingly in their favor, the Lady Falcons could not stem the tide as the Cougars quickly racked up 4 points at an average rate of 1 goal every other minute. After calling for time out, the Falcons began to answer back with two quick points of their own. The rest of the first half played out in a closely matched battle with points traded back and forth.

The second half, however, started out much like the first, with a burst of Cougar points put up on the scoreboard. Then the Falcon scoring team kicked in again and began putting points of their own on the board. The Cougars answered with another burst of points. Not defeated in spirit, the Falcons defiantly put the last point on the scoreboard.
